“In 1819 the proudest man in all of England was, without a doubt, the Duke of Wellington. This was not particularly surprizing; when a man has twice defeated the armies of the wicked French Emperor, Napoleon Bonaparte, it is only natural that he should have a rather high opinion of himself.” — Susannah Clarke, “The Duke of Wellington Misplaces His Horse” (via ladycashasatiger)

Mod notes

Since I haven’t been doing much in the way of moderating lately, I took it upon myself to create a more easily accessible document with all our planned posts (that we weren’t planning as posts when we made them) and neatly organized them so that you can easily see which ones have been made and which ones haven’t. I also highlighted the only repeat we’ve ever posted, which makes me quite proud because with our terrible organization of two people who’ve never run a real blog going from different computers with different documents and using different templates and formats and programs to make these posts, I’m surprised we didn’t have more.

Anyway. We’ve still got quite a bit of material we can work with but it’s always better if we have more! We’re always open to new ideas and, even better, submissions, so you can send us all your ideas here. We accept any kinds of submissions, whether you’ve drawn/painted something you want to promote, you just happen to be so kind as to save your mods a little bit of work and made your own graphic with your quote, awkward moment, or whatever you happen to be submitting, or you’ve come up with something so mind blowing and original that I haven’t thought to mention something like it here.

I’ll also go ahead and start trying to use a more consistent tagging system, so if you want to avoid posts like this I’ll try to start tagging them as ‘mod notes’ and you can black list that. A lot of the time these posts are just to get my ideas down anyway, and maybe communicate them to the other mod since our contact tends to be sporadic at best.

Hoping you all have a lovely day.

-L.
